We are a truly global company, operating in all regions of the world. The cultural diversity of our company is an inspiration, and we are equally driven by our commitment to the environment.
At B. Braun we work beyond our legal obligations, demonstrating our genuine belief that our work, valuable as it is, should not cost the earth.
Our fundamental commitment Minimising our impact on the environment is a practice integral to our business. Infact, the B. Braun Group was the first medical products manufacturer to participate in the European Community Ecology Audit. Many of our locations conform to the European Environmental Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS III)and also hold the world environmental standard ISO 14001. Across the world, in all of our operations, our environmental and safety officials work to ensure that our high standards are uniformly adhered to across the group.
It means that the raw materials that go into our products are very carefully selected. It means we manage and constantly reassess our manufacturing processes and our use of energy resources. It means we’re efficient when it comes to transporting our products and focused on minimising waste disposal. Innovation in environmental protection Innovation defines the way we work to protect the environment as much as it does the way we develop and deliver our products and services.
We’ve pioneered PVC-free alternatives in many surgical and medical products and recently we developed an award winning, environmentally sound sterilisation treatment, a process which has also led to a significant reduction in our energy consumption.
Beyond doing all we can to safeguard our environment, we’re also dedicated to improving quality of life in the areas we operate, engaging with communities and contributing where we can. We invest in community-based medical charities and local schools across the globe; we sponsor sporting and cultural events. More immediately, we ensure the quality of working life for our employees, with state-of-the-art facilities and offices, and progressive working practices.
