Creating a mentally healthy workplace culture at B. Braun

More than 40 employees at B. Braun Medical Ltd have been formally trained as Mental Health First Responders in a bid to create ‘mentally healthy teams’ across the business.

Staff from varying departments and levels took part in the course, which covered the practical aspects of support for colleagues with mental health conditions and those in distress.

Run by PeoplePlus, the accredited course trained employees on attitudes towards mental health, breaking down stigma, understanding common mental health conditions, signposting to specialist help, mental wellbeing and how it can be improved, stress in the workplace and building up resilience.

Last year the B. Healthy B. Braun programme was recognised for its contribution to improving and protecting public health by the prestigious Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).

The campaign, which has been running for more than a decade, aims to increase understanding of lifestyle behaviours and create a culture and working conditions which maximise individual health and wellbeing.
