S4® Element Augmentation

The augmentation screw allows the surgeon to respond to a reduced bone quality of the patient. Sometimes, the existing bone quality of patients does not provide sufficient fixation ability to ensure the required system stability of internal fixation.
To achieve the desired fixation of the screw, bone cement, having a defined viscosity, can be injected through the augmentation screw into the vertebral body. The slots provide homogenous cement distribution. The purpose of the augmentation screws is in line with the existing system requirements and objectives of S⁴® Element.
