SOUTH YORKSHIRE PUPILS DANCE THEIR WAY TO HEALTH

HUNDREDS of schoolchildren from across South Yorkshire went head-to-head to win top prize in a dance competition with a difference.

Over three hundred pupils from 10 of the region’s primary schools competed to be named the B. Healthy - B Braun Dance Cup Champion, marking the start of 2017’s B. Healthy- B. Braun programme - a South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire-wide initiative which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of schoolchildren in the area.

Led by B. Braun Medical Ltd and Sheffield Sharks guard Zach Gachette, the programme aims to ‘motivate and educate young people about the importance of good nutrition’ and being active, with pupils offered professional tuition in either dance or basketball as part of the scheme.

Rozey Christian, Corporate Communications & PR Manager said: “It’s so inspiring to see the schoolchildren we’ve been working with this term really getting into the programme and showcasing the benefits dance can bring both in terms of their health and socially, too.

“It’s so rewarding seeing the pupils getting more active and taking a real interest in looking after their health through better diet and exercise.”
