B. Braun receives platinum recognition for £35,000 charity fundraiser

For the sixth consecutive year, Sheffield-based B. Braun Medical Ltd has been recognised with the Platinum Award from the Pennies from Heaven Employee Workplace Giving Scheme.

B. Braun received the Platinum Award for demonstrating ‘commendable commitment and generosity’ in the fundraising sector, with over 60% of their employees signing up for the micro-giving scheme which rounds down their salary each month to donate up to 99p to charity.

Altogether, employees from the healthcare company raised over £35,000, which will be increased by an extra 25% through Gift Aid from the Government.

Throughout 2021/22 the money raised will be donated to The Children’s Hospital Charity, which supports Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in looking after young people in need of vital medical care by creating new facilities.

David Oates, Group Managing director of B. Braun Medical Ltd, said: “The Pennies from Heaven scheme is the perfect example of how a little can go a long way, and I’m delighted to hear that the small donations our teams have made each month will help to make a tremendous difference to the lives of young people battling complex illnesses.

“The Children’s Hospital Charity does vital work and the Trust’s doctors and nurses do incredible work on a daily basis treating every condition imaginable. B. Braun are proud to be able to support them.”

Pennies from Heaven is the UK’s largest micro-giving scheme for employees and pensioners, which raises funds by offering employees the chance to round down their salary to donate up to 99p each month. So far it has raised over £5.8m for more than 265 charities.
