Gold Investors in People award win for B. Braun Medical Ltd
B. Braun Medical Ltd is celebrating after successfully retaining the coveted Investors in People (IiP) Gold Mark of Excellence - We invest in people Gold Award.
It means the Sheffield-based company has continuously held Investors in People accreditation since 2001 and, at the last review (October 2021), was accredited for the fourth time with the Gold Award having first achieved it in 2012.
Gold award accreditation recognises exceptional levels of people management practices, innovative approaches, and support for people to deliver the organisation’s ambition. Each year the IiP framework for the gold standard becomes more challenging, meaning that organisations must adapt and consistently achieve high standards in all elements of the IiP framework to retain Gold.
As part of the 2021 assessment, staff members from across the company were interviewed to help get a real understanding of both strengths and areas to focus on in the future.
B. Braun has kept employees at the forefront throughout covid-19 with initiatives such as increasing the number Mental Health Ambassadors, delivering virtual training and learning as well as women in leadership initiatives to name but a few. The company has seen employees enthusiastically volunteering to support crucial areas of the business throughout the pandemic to ensure B. Braun continued to support the NHS during this challenging time – a testament to the commitment, loyalty and strength of the workforce.
IiP Practitioner, Katherine Humphreys said: “B. Braun’s people were enthusiastic to share their experiences of working at ‘the best place ever’. They say they are cared about and valued. They were excellent ambassadors for B. Braun as a ‘great place to work’ and talked with passion and pride about how much they like working at B. Braun. It was a privilege to hear about their fantastic experiences and share in their joy about where they work and what they do.”
David Oates, Group Managing Director of B. Braun Medical Ltd, said: “Retaining Gold accreditation is an incredible achievement, especially since the assessment took part during the Covid-19 pandemic, which is undoubtedly the most challenging situation we have ever faced as a business.
“Our assessment was a great opportunity to hear from our people which helps us to keep making changes, keep improving and keep moving forward. We strive to put our people first by leading, supporting and developing them every step of the way.
“I would like to thank everyone at B. Braun who contributed and engaged with the IiP assessment – their feedback is instrumental in helping to ensure that B Braun continues to be a great place to work for everyone.”
