Collecting capillary blood
Capillary blood samples are generally taken from one fingertip using a sharp and pointed needle.
Optimal puncture sites
Choose middle, ring or little finger of the non-dominant hand.
Puncture at the fingertip, slightly off-center as circled in green.
Note: A single drop of blood is enough.
Frequent punctures of the fingertips require good skin care!
