Thanks to its unique Twincap® port system, the Ecoflac® plus features excellent handling properties and performance during the drug preparation process. The two separated and identical ports on the Twincap can be used for either drug preparation or delivery. A variety of needle-free admixture devices can be used in combination with Ecoflac® plus to help improve safety and add efficiency to your drug preparation processes.
Preparation with Closed System device
Ecoflac® Connect is a dedicated Closed System admixture device for transferring fluids between an Ecoflac® plus container and a single dose medication vial. As a closed system, it aims at reducing contamination of medication and healthcare professional exposure to potential toxic medication. The fact that the vial remains connected with the system all along the infusion reduces the risk of medication error.
Preparation with transfer device
Ecoflac® Mix is a dedicated transfer cap for transferring fluids between an Ecoflac® plus container and a single dose medication vial. It provides a stable connection between the container and the vial and is especially designed to be used in combination with Ecoflac® plus.
Preparation with dispensing pin
Mini-Spike® 2 is a vented dispensing pin for injecting and withdrawing fluids from medication vials and fluid containers. Its integrated air-venting channel makes pressure-balancing techniques unnecessary. The swabbable valve on Mini-Spike® 2 also aims at facilitating disinfection for multiple access.
Preparation with needle and syringe
The large neck ring area around the Twincap port is made of a puncture-resistant plastic to help prevent needlestick injuries or inadvertent piercing of the container in case a needle is used. To help improve safety to your drug preparation processes and help prevent sharps injuries, we recommend the use of our Sterican® MIX semi-blunt needle.
