Tourist Attractions
Abbey Rolduc is the largest and oldest preserved Abbey complex of Netherlands. Its history dates back more than 900 years. Because of its cultural significance and architectural value, the Abbey is a national monument. The complex is also on the list of UNESCO monuments. The 900-year-old Baalsbruggermolen is the only Abbey mill in the Netherlands. This national monument has been thoroughly restored. Grain is milled by volunteer millers using an electric motor. In the future, this will be done with a real water wheel again. GaiaZOO opened its doors ten years ago. Because of its novel and unique zoo concept, this beautiful park has been voted "most beautiful zoo in the Benelux” four times already. Kasteel Erenstein is a ruined castle, located on the outskirts of a country estate. A stylish restaurant is now housed within the historic walls.
