Tourist attractions in the town and surrounding areas

Water Castle – located in the oldest part of the town Šimonovany and built in the 15th century, this castle is a major Gothic-Renaissance landmark

Dúha Swimming Complex - This recreational facility was opened in 2000 and in 2004. It was rated the best regional swimming complex in the country. Year-round, visitors can enjoy amenities such as a sauna, pearl bath, heated and unheated swimming pools and a refreshing cocktail at the bar. In the summer, the facility offers four different pools – one large-sized, one with a waterslide, a spray pool and a children‘s pool with a sandy-beach playground, beach volleyball and massage services.

Malé Bielice - This recreational center, with its thermal, slightly mineralized water, is located in the city of Partizánske. The facility has two enclosed pools with thermal waters ranging in temperature from 35 – 38°C. Visitors can enjoy hydrotherapy treatments in the form of pearl and whirlpool baths and underwater massages. The local airport has a flying club, which offers sightseeing flights and flying lessons.

Jelenská Gaštanica Nature Reserve - Spread over an area of 10 hectares, this artificially created forest contains over 1,500 chestnut trees, which are 300–500 years old. The forest is located on a hill near the town of Jelenec. Located on the top of the hill are the ruins of the medieval castle of Gýmeš, which dates from the 13th century, when its owners had planted the original chestnut trees in the land below the castle as a source of the favourite local nuts.
