Aesculap Academia receives renewed Royal College of Surgeons of England accreditation

Sheffield-based Aesculap Academia UK has been awarded a prestigious quality mark by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

The award is given in recognition of outstanding surgery-related education provision by Aesculap Academia and means that the company is now accredited as an official the Royal College of Surgeons of England centre for a further three years.

The Quality Assurance Operational Group at the Royal College of Surgeons of England were impressed with the overall quality of the application and the judges were particularly impressed by Aesculap Academia’s response to the Covid pandemic by delivering a programme of virtual events.

Ananda Nanu, Chair of the RCS England Quality Assurance Operational Group, said: “Aesculap Academia deliver high quality events with consistent dedication to surgical education. They attract highly regarded faculty and we commend their professionalism and commitment to creating an exceptional learning environment for all.”

Aesculap Academia are B. Braun Medical Ltd’s education business which started in the 1990s with a single course created in response to requests from developing surgeons and, following successful early pilot events, it became a formalised area of the UK business in 1996.

Today the centre has built a reputation for providing high-quality education for healthcare professionals including surgeons, physicians, nurses and anaesthetists, with courses accredited by medical societies and international medical associations alongside the RCS.
