"With traditional platforms, we would have to essentially contort our bodies to look into particularly difficult-to-access areas within the brain. In paediatric neurosurgery, we are often operating in such regions. This is uncomfortable, has longer-term musculoskeletal impacts on the surgeon, but most importantly, makes performing already difficult surgery over many hours even more challenging.
Aeos allows us to visualise those same areas, but with a far better ergonomic posture, facilitating us to operate in those areas with greater ease, over longer periods, in much greater comfort. At the end of the day, this produces a better service and probably better safety for our young patients."
