Central digital administration platform for infusion pump

The Space®plus & OnlineSuiteplus system sets a new benchmark in​connectivity and cyber security – delivering seamless therapy documentation and smart provision of infusion programming. ​

OnlineSuiteplus and the optional B. Braun Health Cloud​ connection provide a dedicated data source for continuous quality​ improvements in infusion therapy and product-firmware updates.

​Remote update for smart infusion pumps

In many hospitals, manual processes for updating pump software and drug databases consume large amounts of time and resources. Clinical workflows are disrupted when infusion pumps are removed from bedside locations for updating.

AutoProgramming – Infusion programming the safe way

B. Braun’s AutoProgramming is a computerised, secure and largely automated workflow for infusion parameter programming with bedside order verification.

 

Prescription

The medication order is entered into the computerised physician order entry system (CPOE).

Drug admixture

A medication code is prepared that includes the individual patient drug information and ID. 

Point of care (BCMA)

The patient’s barcode ID is scanned together with the pump identification, the drug container label and the clinician’s ID.

Verification transmission

The medication data is transmitted to the pump after the verification of the scanned data from step 3.

Validation & confirmation

Final validation of the medication data is made by the clinician to confirm the infusion.

Documentation

All therapy data is transmitted automatically to the documentation system after the infusion.

Cyber security in the digital hospital

The Spaceplus & OnlineSuiteplus system introduces bi-directional encrypted data communication to protect sensitive patient and therapy data. The system makes for more data security in the hospital using state-of-the-art security standards and specifications. ​
