Easypump® II

Disposable Elastomeric Infusion Pump System

We all know that, where possible, ‘home is the very best therapy’. For this reason, B. Braun has developed a flexible option for the treatment of patients who require antimicrobial therapy, chemotherapy, or pain therapy: Easypump® II.


Easypump® II allows physicians to conveniently shift medical therapy to outpatient care. While patients benefit from a rapid mobilisation and a quicker return to familiar home environment, hospitals benefit from a reduced length of stay and increased patient satisfaction.

Minimising Selection errors using colour coding  

Research has shown that one third of reported medication incidents may be caused by confusion over packaging and labelling [1].
In order to support a wide variety of infusion therapies, Easypump® II offers a broad product portfolio of different pump sizes and flow rates and it is important to identify and differentiate between them.

Clear differentiation between long-term and short-term variants by a different colour and shape of the sticker.

Important to consider: Colour can help to differentiate between different flow rates. However, total reliance on colour can also lead to mistakes. This is because colours look different in different lighting conditions; people have different perceptions of colour; and colour blindless means some people see colours differently. Colour should not be relied upon as the sole differentiator and additional graphic elements should be included to help differentiate further [2].
